ESL Hotel Listening

There are several ESL hotel listening tasks on this page that will help you prepare for when you need to go to a hotel and speak and listen to what the staff might say to you. By practicing listening to the hotel words now you will be prepared for when you need to listen to them in a real conversation.

Exercise 4 – Dictation

In the final ESL hotel listening activity you need to listen to the recording of a passage being spoken and then write it down exactly as it is said. The passage is said twice in the recording: the first time at a slow speaking rate and then in the second with pauses after every few words and the punctuation included.
